I am from Spain and have long been engaged in the research and development of high-performance composite materials for aerospace structures. In 2024, through Ms. Yiqian of Jinhai Qiming Technology Services Co., Ltd., I first learned about and applied for this program. Although I invested considerable effort in preparing the application materials at the time, I ultimately was not selected—perhaps because the supporting documents I provided were not sufficiently comprehensive. To be honest, that outcome left me with deep regret.

At the beginning of 2025, Ms. Yiqian contacted me again. She did not simply exchange pleasantries, but instead carefully reviewed our previous application materials, pointed out potential shortcomings one by one, and gave me a detailed overview of the policy changes and new industry trends for 2025. She asked whether I would be willing to try once more. I hesitated at first, but her candor and professionalism made me realize that this time, it would no longer be a blind repeat, but a more focused and strategic effort. So I decided to give it another shot.

At the end of 2025, I finally received the acceptance notification. But at that moment, what welled up in me was more a sense of relief and gratitude than pure excitement. I gradually came to understand that a single setback does not mean one is unsuitable—sometimes the timing is simply not yet right. What truly changes the outcome are those who understand your work and are willing to reflect with you and persevere alongside you.

After receiving the notification, I had in-depth discussions with Ms. Yiqian and the Chinese partner team regarding my work arrangements in China. Ultimately, I decided to relocate to China full-time, to be long-term based at the company's R&D center, and to devote myself wholeheartedly to key technical challenges such as improving the stability of composite molding processes and validating new structural designs. To be honest, making this decision was not easy—after all, it meant leaving behind my familiar life and research environment in Spain. However, during my first visit to the company in January 2026, when I saw the structural components being trial-produced in their workshop and witnessed the team's dedication to every process detail, I had a vague sense that this was a place worth setting aside my concerns for. At present, I am in the process of applying for a work visa for China and handling the associated administrative procedures. Although the process has proven somewhat more cumbersome than I had anticipated, with the continuous support of the Jinhai Qiming team, every step comes with clear guidance. If all goes smoothly, I expect to officially embark on my journey to China within the next few months and begin my full-time work at the Chinese enterprise. In the meantime, I am also using this transitional period to systematically learn some basic Chinese and to organize my past research findings, hoping to engage in substantive collaboration with the team as soon as I arrive.
